Vintage Design
Pair of solid pine benches designed by the Danish architects Knu Friis and Elmar Moltke Nielsen around 1960 for their own studio Friis & Moltke Denmark.
Their architectural studio was found in 1954 and was involved in introducing brutalism to Denmark throughout the 1960s and 1970s. In general their approach to brutalism was more mild, which can be said of these benches as well.
The benches are practical and very robust, completely made of solid pine.
Simple and clean design.
The benches are in good original condition with traces of use mainly on the seats, which gives the benches a nice patina.
