Contemporary. A pair of English Regency Style Chinoiserie tôle peinte wall lanterns. Each having a paneled pagoda top with a crested spire. With a red ground, every other panel is painted with gold scales and figural decorations, with a shaped edge accented with scrolled and dangling bells, atop a pierced floral frieze cornice. The lantern with a glass door and sides and a mirrored back, atop a pierced floral base.
Inspired by the furniture at Brighton Pavilion in Sussex, England. Brighton Pavillion was the 19th Century Royal Residence of the Prince Regent – later King George IV (1820-1830).
