These high quality Tureens are very finely hand painted in great detail.
The patterns show groups of ladies in different outdoor scenes on a verandah outside a house, both fishing and gazing into a large fish bowl, with fences, trees and bushes, the scenes set within medallions. There are various borders to the bases and lids and much gold gilding. The hand painting is overglaze in many different colours with further medallions at the sides of fruit and flowers.
The level of detail is superb
Both bases have an apocryphal Qing Qianlong mark hand painted in red and the inside of one of the lids has a painter or gilders mark in gold. We date these fine pieces to circa 1925 but they could be earlier.
Overall a high quality beautiful pair of Large Chinese porcelain Tureens.
