Monumental 19th century Japanese Painted Mirror with Lacquer, Gilt, Faux Bamboo
Offered for sale is a monumental late 19th century Japanese lacquered, gilt, and painted faux bamboo wood framed mirror. The mirror itself is painted and gilt on the surface with floral and bird designs. The mirror shows signs of aging. This beautifully painted and crafted wall mirror in the Japonisme style is a recent acquisition from a waterfront Miami Beach mansion. It was hung on the wall with a later added wooden back which was attached to a French cleat screwed into the supporting wall.
