Large Vintage Murano Glass Chandelier by Ercole Barovier for Barovier & Toso, 1940s

Splendid Barovier & Toso chandelier of the 1940s work of art art of extraordinary beauty. Made through traditional glass blowing techniques, this chandelier is the result of the mastery of the Muranese windows, giving Murano glass its unmistakable transparency.

The particular technique used in its creation makes this chandelier truly unique. The cups and the central structure, including the cup of the ceiling, were cleverly worked in “bolted” glass (definition in Venetian jargon), a distinctive style typical of the Barovier chandeliers of the early 1900s. The large cups are supported by six long fines finely made of “Torchon” glass (Venetian jargon). Twelve leaves, you are facing upwards and six curves downwards, they contribute to further enrich this beautiful chandelier. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
