This is a highly decorative and stylish Japanned beige or tan painted bureau bookcase decorated overall with gilt chinoiseries. The top section contains a arched pediment over two conforming doors leading to a fitted and fully painted interior. The top supported by a bottom section containing a drop-front writing surface which is fully decorated above a single drawer over two pair of smaller drawers over one large bottom drawer. A rare and desirable design that is rarely seen. All of the drawers are supported by a shaped scalloped base, 20th century. This item is made of two pieces. A top and a base.
