Set of four 19th century Chinese pith painting of flowers, butterflies and other insects in fantastic silver gilt mirror paneled frames. The silver is mostly rubbed down to the red bol making for a very appealing surface. The paintings themselves are quite wonderful depictions of the natural word. These are such a unique find.
With an old French label on reverse.
Some cracks to two of the mirror panels, and minor old repairs to the paper that only add to the allure of these marvels that are still with us after 200 years!
