Vintage Design
Authentic early 1900’s Asipim chair. Used by Asante chiefs during meetings to symbolize their power and prestige while their subjects sat on the ground before them. Modeled after 18th century English Farthingale chairs. The name “Asipim” means, “I stand firm” and is reflective of the expectations for the leaders to rule with authority and strength. Hand applied unique and decorative nail head designs with tight leather hide seat. Seat height is 10″.
