A large Chinese Canton Enamel Jardinière, circa 1900s. Features an ovoid form between two gilded metal animal masks with hoop handles. The bowl is decorated in bright enamels with a large cartouche showing a Chinese family flying animal figured kites in a beautiful landscape showcasing trees and colorful flowers. The cartouche on the verso shows the family in the same setting playing in a circle with a fish piñata and rooster toys on wheels. Each cartouche is over a blue ground decorated with scrolling floral tendrils and Phoenixes. Mouth rim is decorated with a band of ruyi-heads.

Condition:GoodWear consistent with age and use. Good Antique Condition; Age related wear. Warping to the bowl. light chipping to enamel towards the center of one cartouche with roosters. Piece of tape adhesive towards top of cartouche.
