Vintage Design
High Guillotine Secretary, in solid Blond Walnut and veneered, Louis XVI period.
Its wooden top is bevelled and moulded around the edges.
Its upper part is composed, by definition, of two doors, with Mercury mirrors. They enclose a compartment with a 33 cm deep shelf. This shelf is placed on racks and partially adjustable in height.
Underneath, a flap marks out the Secretary area. Its front is made of an attractive panel in Walnut Veneer with Developed effect. The latter is underlined by strips forming a frame. Once unfolded, this flap becomes a Writing Table covered in Green Leather, with a central label and a Golden frieze. The theatre is relatively uncluttered. It consists of niches, drawers of various capacities and a locker hidden under one of them.
In the lower part, this piece of furniture has two large drawers with an identical depth of 17.5 cm and assembled in ”Queues d’Arondes”. Their fronts are designed according to the same process as the one used for the flap.
These five main openings are lockable. They are equipped with original brass lock entries, accompanied by their respective keys, which are current.
The front uprights of this Secretary are fluted on one side.
The set rests on four feet in Ducts finished with brass Shoes.
The sides of this piece of furniture are paneled.
The back is in Fir.
One will appreciate the diversity of the arrangements proposed by this Secretary, as well as its harmonious designs formed by its Walnut Veneer.
