An early 20th century Chinese Horseshoe Chair of late Qing / early Republic Era. Superb form with horseshoe back and sweeping arms, single vertical slat carved backrest with roundel, a cane rectangular seat above a shaped apron and four round shaped legs joined by stretchers. A beautiful dark and rich coloured Hongmu with a wonderful lustre.
A generous sized chair, with good sturdy posture. The cane seat has some age related sagging as pictured but is in good sound order.
A characterful occasional chair, clean and ready for installation.
