This rectangular wall mirror features an antique Chinese bed panel and a contemporary gilt frame carved to resemble lengths of segmented bamboo. Likely extracted from an antique canopy bed or cabinet, the 19th-century panel is carved in low relief with a scene of imperial figures gathered within an elaborate palace courtyard. Now faded from a century of wear, the carving is decorated with red lacquer, mica flakes, and traces of blue and gold pigments.
