This amazing set of chairs are American Victorian in Black Walnut and feature carved winged griffins on the arm fronts. They are upholstered in dark blue velvet; we are not sure when they were upholstered but obviously not the original Victorian fabric. These were purchased in the 1980s from the estate auction of prominent art dealer John P. Lewis in Dallas, Texas and are from the estate of his former daughter in law. Unfortunately, she did not purchase the matching settee! This set consists of a rocker and matching armchair; both are in wonderful condition. They were in a formal living and were rarely used.

These chairs are show pieces; sure to be a wonderful addition to your home!
