Space Age Nightstands in Chrome & Leather in the style of Luigi Massoni, 1970s, Set of 2

A pair of truly special space age nightstands, which you can place on the sides of a bed or join them in a single large chest of drawers, all this by moving them comfortably thanks to the wheels with which they are equipped. Most likely made in Italy, these vintage nightstands have no labels or brands that attest to their attribution but the sinuous curves and the use of leather to cover the wooden structure are very reminiscent of the works of designer Luigi Massoni for the historic Italian company Poltrona Frau . The decorative details are what I love most about these 70s bedside tables. I love the color contrast created by the metallic chrome with the Navy Blue leather. The chromed metal slats surround the lower and upper ends of the bedside tables and are also featured in the decoration of the drawers with comfortable handles. What about mirrors on tops? Like a porthole on a ship or a submarine, two round smoked mirrors interrupt the metal slats giving depth, a window from which to imagine being able to peer into the depths of the sea or an opportunity to refract the light of a table lamp or a pendant dropped directly onto the mirror. These bedside tables are in good vintage condition, they have been cleaned and polished with a special leather product that waterproofs it and revives the color. However, they show minimal signs of use and age visible in the photos.
