Vintage Design
A rare and unique mid-century modern serving trolley bar cart, you will not find another one like it for sale online at the moment. Made in Italy between 1950 and 1960 by the Siva Poggibonsi company, the black painted metal structure with wheels has two floors on which 2 large removable trays rest. The peculiarity of this vintage trolley is precisely in the two concave circular trays, they are made of enamelled copper, an ancient artisan technique which in Italian design has found fame in the work resulting from the collaboration between Paolo de Poli and Gio Ponti. The trays are hand decorated with a De Stijl style theme, square and rectangular in primary colors on a black background, they make up a perfectly balanced composition reminiscent of the works of Theo van Doesburg or Piet Mondrian. The back of the trays are enamelled in a stunning bright red with brass and leather detailing. The cart is in good and original vintage condition. There are, visible from the photos, minimal signs of use and aging such as signs of oxidation and small scratches.
