Rare, large brass tea canister stamped Shrewsbury and Co. Importers Great Tower Street London. This tea caddy was converted into a table lamp by Samuel Dinkelspiel of Chicago. Dinkelspiel was a Chicago lamp maker in the early 20th century who incorporated antiques into his creations. His lamps were considered works of art. The body is decorated with incised scenes of birds and trees. The lamp has a lovely vintage patina and sits on a wooden plinth.
