A good French antique mantel clock in the chinoiserie taste.
Constructed in gilt bronze; the shaped case having oriental form scroll feet and decorated with foliates and surmounted with a figure of a Chinese lady of quality in traditional robes holding a ‘jewelled’ mirror; the circular steel dial of the clock having Roman incised numerals, and housing an eight day silk suspension movement, with the hours striking on a bell.
