Vintage Design
The F1 armchair was designed by Willy Van Der Meeren and produced by Tubax in the early 1950s. It features a black lacquered frame and a wooden seat and backrest covered with shiny vinyl with a 1950s print. This F1 armchair is complete original of the 1950s. It is an old edition with printed vinyl and very hard to find.
Willy van der Meeren (1923 – 2002) was a Belgian architect and furniture designer, he played a prominent role in the Belgian furniture design of the 1950s. From 1951 to 1958 he designed for Tubax a whole catalogue of furniture for “the contemporary home”.
