Vintage Design
This pair of leather model Pirate lounge chairs feature flat steel chromed frames and armrests with a fine leather upholstery. The Norwegian design by Elsa and Nordahl Solheim for Rykken, who also designed the similar Kengu chair that is made of bent wood, was created in 1967 but first produced in 1973. Both Elsa and Nordahl were inspired by the Italian designer Achille Castiglioni and admired his sense of clear structures and the ability to put familiar elements into a new product.
